Caxton.- [Chaucer (Geoffrey)] [The Book of Fame], single leaf (a3) from the extremely rare work, 38 lines, black letter, repaired hole with loss to text on 3 lines on verso only, worming, affecting text in places, soiled and browned at upper and lower edges and slightly chipped at bottom, slightly damp-wrinkled at top, window-mounted, [STC 5087], 4to (204 x 148mm.), Westminster, William Caxton, [c.1486].
⁂ A fragment from one of the great Caxton rarities. Only one other leaf (a6) has been traced at auction (Sotheby's 1979 £220). Printed in his number 4 type.
