Kolbe the Elder (Carl Wilhelm, 1759-1835) The cow in the swamp, etching, an excellent rich impression, with clear detail and depth to printing, on laid paper without watermark, platemark 302 x 415 mm. (11 7/8 x 16 1/4 in), sheet 340 x 452 mm. (13 1/2 x 17 3/4 in), small repaired tear to upper margin, not affecting image, several very small pin holes visible with raking light, [circa 1800-1803].
