⁂ Hopton Hall, Derbyshire, the ancestral home for some 600 years of the Gylls or Gells. Its most famous resident was the archaeologist Sir William Gell. Loosely inserted are various newspaper cuttings relating to the sale of contents by Sothebys in 1989.
