Potter (Beatrix) The Tale of Johnny Town-Mouse, first edition, first printing, first state with "Londo" in the title-page imprint, signed presentation inscription from the author 'For Francis William Clark with love from "Beatrix Potter"' to front free endpaper, colour frontispiece, plain title vignette and 26 colour plates, pictorial endpapers, original green boards with mounted colour illustration, a near-fine copy, [Quinby 25; Linder p.430], 16mo, [1918].
⁂ A superb copy, inscribed to the dedicatee of The Tale of Mr Tod (see previous lot).
Provenance: Christies South Kensington, 21st July, 1994, lot 15.
