Beerbohm (Max) Marquis Luis de Soveral, the Portuguese Ambassador in London, pen and black ink, brush, watercolour and grey wash, on cream wove paper, signed 'Max' centre right, and inscribed 'M. de Soveral' centre left, 320 x 195 mm. (12 1/2 x 7 3/4 in), under glass, some minor abrasions to sheet, light surface dirt, 1900.
