⁂ The first is part of a famous work on gemstones first published in 1502 as Speculum lapidum by Cesare Borgia's physician. The second is a classic work for the gemstone trade and the first work in English to evaluate stones by cut or size/weight, with plates demonstrating the cutting of various stones and tables valuing each by weight.
