Universal language.- Wilkins (John) An Essay Towards a Real Character, And a Philosophical Language, 2 parts in 1 vol., first edition, imprimatur f., title within double-rule border and with engraved arms of the Royal Society, woodcut initials, head- and tail-pieces, 2 engraved plates, 2 folding letterpress tables, 2 engraved illustrations, with blank leaf 3M4 but lacking final blank, contemporary calf, upper joint repaired, lower cracking, [Wing W2196; Alston VII 290], folio, Printed for Sa: Gellibrand, and for John Martyn Printer to the Royal Society, 1668.
