Montesquieu (Charles-Louis de Secondat, Baron de) Le Temple de Gnide, 'nouvelle édition', finely engraved throughout, frontispiece, pictorial title, arms to head of dedication and 9 plates by Le Mire after Charles Eisen, a few small stains, occasionally spotting, dark green morocco, richly gilt, by Cuzin, covers ornately tooled with birds in orbs, wide floral sprays, and small stars, spine in six compartments, all but one with a central large flower within borders of smaller flowers and foliage, the final bearing the direct lettered title, g.e., marbled board slip-case, [Cohen -de Ricci 726; Ray French 32], 8vo (241 x 159mm.; binding 246 x 174mm.), Paris, Le Mire, 1772.
