Middle East.- Archery.- Kani (Mustafa) Telchis resail er-rümait [excerpts from the writings of archers], text in Turkish using Arabic characters, folding engraved plate (tear and laid down), illustrations (6 full-page, one with tear and laid down), pages numbered by hand, occasional very light spotting, watered silk endpapers, twentieth-century cloth, twentieth-century slipcase retaining earlier calf backstrip, a little rubbed, 8vo, Constantinople, Turkey, 1847.

Mahmud II (1808-39) who was the last Sultan of Turkey to encourage archery, directed Kani to write a book which would cover the history of the Constantinople Archers' Guild. The book also covers the making of bows and arrows, methods of shooting, tournament rules, and the distance records achieved by various archers.
