Edwards of Halifax.- Specimens of the Early English Poets, ownership inscriptions of S. F. Trench and Harriott Trench to half-title, contemporary Etruscan calf, probably by Edwards of Halifax, covers with gilt pentaglyph and metope roll border enclosing a stained border of classical palmettes gilt roll of Greek key pattern, rubbed, corners and spine neatly and sympathetically repaired, with a contemporary fore-edge painting of a country house with a Greek-style pavilion in foreground, 8vo, for Edwards, 1790.
⁂ Though in an unsigned binding, this work was published by James Edwards during a busy 10-year stint towards the end of the century as binder, bookseller and publisher.
