Italian Binding.- Joni (Icilio Sienese painter and restorer who produced imitations of the wooden panel bindings, born c. 1865), Attributed to, Richly gilt panelled wooden boards, upper cover depicting the Saint Macarius, lower cover depicting 12 coats of arms, legend in Italian and dated1466, both covers all within floral decoration, 8 brass floral studs, upper board with central break and neat repair verso, inner boards stained red and with worming, c.380 x 200mm., dated 1466 [but probably late 19th century]
