Iceland.- Geological exploration.-
Bright (Dr. Richard, 1789-1858) and Edward Bird R.A. (1772-1819). Collection of twenty original drawings from travels in Iceland with Sir Henry Holland F.R.S. (1788-1873) and Sir George Mackenzie F.R.S. (1780-1848), brush and ink, on Whatman wove papers with watermark dates '1805' to two sheets, six mounted on card supports with wash and ruled borders, all but one of these six inscribed 'Drawn by E. Bird/ From Sketch by R. Bright 1810', the 14 other sheets not mounted, probably by Bright, with inscriptions verso that identify locations, each numbered in ink, each approx. 150 x 235 mm (5 7/8 x 9 1/4 in) or slightly larger, some rough edges, one with significant loss into image, minor surface dirt, unframed, [1810]; with two other sketches of made on the voyage, unframed, (22)
