Mathematics.- Roget (John Lewis) A Familiar Interpretation of the language of Mathematics, autograph title in ink, half-title 'Mathematics', 41 humorous visualisations of mathematical terms (each c. 95 x 80mm., and captioned in ink beneath), and a tail-piece in pen and ink and watercolour, occasional spotting or light staining, all mounted into a contemporary boards album (an unused Latin exercise book with 'Latin' in ink to upper cover), the artist's name and date of 1844 to engraved decorative label on the upper cover, 1845; and a copy of the 1859 edition of the published work, small 4to & small oblong 4to (2)
