⁂ A likely Algerian or Egyptian copy of a Muslim jurisprudence text, and one particularly concerned with discussions around marriage and inheritance. North Africa was in the 18th century a major area of academic discussion surrounding figh, or Muslim legal theory. Cairo in particular had a large number of scholars, both male and female, debating the different schools of thought during the 17th century.
