⁂ A superb association copy, inscribed to the original Alfie. Bill Owen (1914-1999), now best remembered for playing Compo Simmonite in Last of the Summer Wine, played the role of Alfie in Naughton's original 1962 radio play, Alfie Elkins and His Little Life.
