Principis Ex Repetita Praelectione Libri XII., edited by Gregor Haloander, collation: α8 β4 a-z4 A-Z4 Aa-Zz4 aaa-ggg4 hhh6 iii-kkk4 lll6, woodcut historiated initials, final f. with colophon recto otherwise blank, early ink underlining and occasional marginalia, repair to upper margin of title, browned (mostly lightly) and some damp-staining, some spotting, 17th century red morocco over wooden boards, gilt (some seemingly later), covers with ?later centre-pieces composed of vases, stars, and flowers within a circular double filet border, within outer triple filet borders with inner floral corner-pieces, spine in compartments with floral and foliage decoration to raised bands and spine ends and triple filet borders, some light staining / soiling, rubbed and scuffed, g.e., folio (305 x 201mm.; binding 315 x 219mm.), Nuremberg, Johann Petreius, [September], 1530.
⁂ Provenance: The Sunderland Library, Blenheim Palace copy (press-marks to front free endpaper ‘D.D. 4:13’ and ‘119 G.2.’), sold by Puttick & Simpson between 1881 and 1883. Our volume bought by Bernard Quaritch, and with their 1882 engraved armorial bookplate to front pastedown.
