Lysons (Samuel) A Collection of Gloucestershire Antiquities, one of 12 large paper copies, engraved title page and 111 plates, all but 5 hand-coloured with line and wash borders, plate 84 in 2 states, title-page and first f. foxed, bookplates to pastedown, contemporary dark blue morocco, gilt, g.e., a little rubbed, [Bobins 1697; Lowndes 1425], large folio, T.Cadell and W. Davies, 1804.
⁂ "The plates which I have etched from my own drawings do not pretend to the character of finished engravings, I nevertheless flatter myself that the manner in which they are executed will not be thought wholly inadequate to the subjects. These etchings are sometimes assisted by the roulette." Samuel Lysons.
