Horses.- Pluvinel (Antoine de) L'Instruction du Roy, en Exercice de Monter a Cheval, additional engraved allegorical title dated 1668, engraved portrait by C.Hagens to verso of dedication, 54 fine double-page engraved plates by Crispian de Pas within woodcut architectural borders only (of 55), all mounted on stubs, some light browning or water-staining (mostly marginal), a few spots or other small stains, one plate a little damp-stained at fold, old ink stamp to title and verso of a few plates, nineteenth century red morocco panelled with gilt rules and fleurs-de-lys in outline at corners, upper cover inlaid with initials CM/MC surmounted by coronet in green, citron and black morocco, lower cover with initial B in black morocco, spine gilt in compartments and five raised bands, inner gilt dentelles, g.e., rubbed, small gouge to one compartment of spine, a few small holes to lower cover, [Nissen ZBI 3203], folio, Amsterdam, Jean Schipper, 1666.
