Bible, Persian.- Novum Testamentum... e Graeca in Persicam Linguam, translated by Henry Martyn, first title in Latin, second in Persian, woodcut cartouche to head of first f. of text, 2 eratta ff. at end, ink library stamp to Latin title and head of first f. of text, light marginal browning at beginning and end, occasional spotting, modern calf-backed marbled boards, gilt spine in compartments and with black leather label, [D&M 7325], 4to, St. Petersburg, Jos. Joannes, 1815.
⁂ Rare first edition in Persian of the New Testament. It was translated out the Greek by Henry Martyn, and printed by the Russian Bible Society in St. Petersburg after Martyn's death.
