Smith & Son blind-stamp to front free endpaper, lacking rear endpaper, upper hinge cracked with the text block shifted down but holding, original blind-stamped cloth (Freeman's variant b) with Edmonds & Remnants binders label on the rear paste-down, spine decorated and lettered in gilt, slight shelf-lean, spine slightly darkened, spine end and corners a little bumped, small patch of soiling and very small portion of cockling to upper cover, [Freeman 373; GM 220; PMM 344b], 8vo, John Murray, 1859.
