I: First editions of Danti's translation of this influential astronomical text by Proclus, and his own treatise on the use of the astrolabe, which was the first book on the subject published in Italy. Danti taught at the University of Pisa, and was Cosmographer to the Medici court. II: Second edition of Piccolomini's work opposing the Aristotelian and Ptolemaic views that water was more extensive than land. Both works include references to the Americas.
