Delgado Guerra (Josef) Tauromaquia o arte de torear á cabello y á pie, second edition, 30 engraved plates after Ascenio Julia coloured by a contemporary hand, a crisp, clean copy, ink stamp and small book-label to endpapers, contemporary calf, gilt, rubbed, worming to foot of spine, patch of abrasion to head of upper cover, [Bobins 1397], 8vo, Madrid, Venga y compañía, 1804.
⁂ The second, substantially enlarged edition of this celebrated work on bullfighting. The first edition included only half of the present text as well as two, uncoloured, plates. Delgado Guerra (1754-1801) was one of the most prominent bullfighters in Spain until his death in the ring, an event immortalised by Goya in his series of bullfighting scenes published as La Tauromaquia in 1801. Ascenio Julia was a friend and disciple of Goya's.
