Playbill.- Dance of 'Huron Indians'.- Royal Minor Theatre. [Playbill for a benefit night for the local actor Mr. Hudspeth], printed recto only, folds, 1 with a short split and strengthened verso with ?archival tape, repair to an upper corner with same tape, lightly browned / soiled, creased, Manchester, Printed by J.F. Boyer, No.12 Market Place, 1829.

⁂ Rare. Includes 'Huron Indians. A Naval Hornpipe, by Mr. A England'. Edmund Kean (a Manchester regular) while in Quebec City had been much impressed with the kindness of some members of the Huron peoples, who had attended his performances, and by whom he was purportedly made an honorary chief of the tribe, receiving the name Alanienouidet. This may account for the vogue of entertainments modelled on the indigenous peoples of North America.
