Atlases.- Thomson (John) [A new general atlas, consisting of a series of geographical designs, on various projections, exhibiting the form and component parts of the globe; and a collection of maps and charts], 73 folio sheets only, including a map of Europe across 4 sheets, 2 variant maps of the Arabian peninsula, and others of America, Islands of the Pacific Ocean, Asia, the East India Islands, several of India, and six sheets of the hemispheres, engravings with hand-colouring in outline, on wove papers with watermark dates from 1795 to 1812, each sheet approx. 540 x 720 mm (21 1/4 x 28 1/4 in), map of Barbados trimmed to half-sheet measuring 515 x 320 mm (20 1/4 x 12 1/2 in), first map loose, first dozen with nicks and losses to extremities, handing creases, large tear to map of France with marginal loss, other smaller tears, occasional handling creases, rough edges, surface dirt and minor browning throughout, lacking spine, upper cover detached but present, very worn, oblong elephant folio, [Baldwin, Craddock & Joy], [1817].
