Turkey.- Ward (Margaret K., fl. 1850-1870) Nine views of Constantinople and its environs, including views of the artist's house and surrounding views in the district of Kad?köy on the Asian shore of modern-day Istanbul, and other views of the Gallipoli peninsula, the Walls of Constantinople and others, watercolours on wove papers, some heightened with white, all with pencil annotations, locations described and attributions to Ward, various sizes between 120 x 175 mm. (4 3/4 x 6 7/8 in) to 295 x 470 mm. (11 3/4 x 18 1/2 in), some tipped onto paper supports, occasional folds and minor nicks and tears, some light surface dirt, all unframed, [circa 1850-1870]; together with three further works by the same hand including two views of Castello di Lerici, and another of Corfu, all unframed, [circa 1850s] (12)
