MacCarthy, 1p. with envelope (ink signature on envelope "Charles Dickens" seemingly written over pencil), 8vo, Household Words headed note paper, Strand, [London], 19th January 1854, "Mr Charles Dickens presents his compliments to Mr. MacCarthy, and begs to thank him for the volume of Ballads, Poems and Lyrics which he was so good as to send, and which Mr Dickens accepts with much pleasure", folds, slightly browned and marked.
