⁂ Considered one of the great innovators of Russian poetry, Marina Tsvetaeva was at least in part the model for Lara in Pasternak's Doctor Zhivago , the author writing of her to Rilke she was "a born poet, a great talent ... who writes in a way that none of us in the USSR now writes."
