Description

Dürer (Albrecht, 1471-1528) The Martyrdom of the Ten Thousand, woodcut, a Meder g impression, on laid paper with watermark of a double-lined cross and a heart within a circle, sheet 397 x 297 mm. (15 5/8 x 11 3/4 in), minor nicks to extremities, some spotting and browning, with small damp-stain in the lower left quadrant, unframed, [circa 1496 but later]; together with a copy on 18th-19th century antique paper after Dürer's The four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, 397 x 295 mm. (15 5/8 x 11 1/2 in), unframed (2).
