⁂ The first match listed was on 22nd June 1786 between White Conduit Club and Kent, which WCC won by 5 runs. WCC was a short-lived club but of great significance in the history of cricket as some members later formed the Marylebone Cricket Club. Included in this first match is Edward "Lumpy" Stevens (identified simply as "Lumpy"), often regarded as the first great English bowler - he took 5 wickets in the match.
