Description

Jonathan Yeo (b.1970)

Nicole (from Some People)

Archival inkjet printed in colours, 2012, signed and numbered from the edition of 60 verso, on Somerset Satin paper, printed by Coriander Studio, London, published by Charles Booth-Clibborn under his imprint the Paragon Press, London, the full sheet, 520 x 355mm (20 1/2 x 14in) (unframed)

As one of today's most successful portrait artists, it is no surprise that Yeo draws inspiration from the people around him. His muses range from friends and family to models, celebrities and even politicians. In 'Some People', the artist catches portraits of his famous subjects when they have their guards down. The result is a different, intimate view of these famous faces. We encounter a glimpse of the real sitter, one that we would otherwise not see in their film or television roles, or as they smile on the pages of glossy magazines.
