Johnson (Samuel).- Ascham (Roger) The English Works, edited by James Bennet, first edition, first issue with 'Additional Subscribers' leaf, engraved coat-of-arms to dedication, list of subscribers, with several contemporary ink annotations including one on p.xvi "The Letters at the End, I gave, thro' Dr. Birch's hands, & the Editor has omitted the usual Acknowledgement", occasional spotting, contemporary sprinkled calf with central arms stamped in blind, red morocco label, rubbed, joints and corners a little worn, [Chapman & Hazen 145], 4to, for R. & J.
