Loosely inserted is an A.L.s. by the author (Strickland) to John Wolley, discussing the book and with a warm heading on the first page: "To John Wolley Esq. A slight return for his friendly aid in the preparation of the present work. H. E. Strickland. Sep. 26 1848."
