⁂ Three entries in a competition for an essay on Egyptian architecture, set by the Académie des Inscriptions et de Belles Lettres in Paris in 1785. Although the second item, by Quatremere de Quincy, won the prize it was not published until 1803; del Rosso's essay was first published in 1787.
