Observation in the North: Eight Months in Prison and on Parole, first edition, occasional notes in pencil, faint ink library stamp and numbering to title, modern boards, original wrappers bound in, lower wrapper with loss to corners, upper wrapper a little worn at fore-edge, faint ink stamp and patch of browning, contemporary press notice tipped in on verso, 8vo, Richmond, VA, 1865.

⁂ Possibly the last book published in Confederate America, Pollard was a Confederate journalist who was imprisoned in Boston for a time when the blockade-running ship he was on board was captured by Union troops.
