Johnson (Samuel) The Works of the English Poets, with Prefaces, Biographical and Critical, 72 vol. only (of 75), second edition, engraved portraits, ink ownership inscription "Eliza Drinkwater 1803" to front free endpapers, the odd other contemporary ink annotation, some cracking at gutter and a few pp. working loose, offsetting and scattered light spotting, some with staining to fore-edge, contemporary tree calf, spines gilt in compartments with red and black morocco labels, some joints split or splitting, a few covers loose, many spines browned and chipped with loss, rubbed and bumped, [ESTC T152606], 8vo, John Nichols, 1790.
