[all published], plates, illustrations and decorations by Aubrey Beardsley, Laurence Housman, Walter Crane, Max Beerbohm and others, loosely inserted manuscript compliments note on Bodley Head headed paper "Arthur Waugh Esq with the compliments of the editor and publisher" (burn-holes not affecting text), ownership name "Arthur Waugh" to front endpaper vol. 1, later ownership inscription "Norma Coultass June 1967" to front endpaper vol. 5, 12 & 13, vol. 11 with bookplate of Henry Shepheard and embossed W.H. Smith & Son stamp to front endpaper, some scattered foxing or light soiling, some light browning, heavier to endpapers, vol. 1 gutter split at points with one plate loose, some hinges cracked or weak but holding, original pictorial yellow cloth blocked in black, vol. 1 spine rubbed with loss of text, spines browned to varying degrees but a few heavy, spines with some short tears to ends and a few with small loss (vol. 4, 10, 11), some soiling, little rubbed with corners bumped, small 4to, Elkin Mathews & John Lane, 1894-97.
