Aldine.- Medici (Lorenzo de') Poesie Volgari nuovamenta stampata . . . Col commento del medesimo sopra alcuni de’ suoi sonetti, first edition, second state (as often), with sig. O reset as 4 ff. following the removal of five offending canzoni, title with woodcut printer's device, large woodcut historiated initial to A2, errata at end, lacking final f. with printer's device verso otherwise blank, title torn and frayed and repaired (with very minor loss) and detached, G1 small piece neatly cut from lower blank corner, occasional spotting or staining, lightly browned, large etched bookplate of Giles Robertson to front pastedown, contemporary limp vellum, lacking ties, spine worn (exposing a little of early manuscript binder's waste), soiled and creased, [Adams M1005; Ahmanson-Murphy 473.5; Renouard 162:23], 8vo, House of the Sons of Aldus, 1554.
