⁂ Jeremiah James Colman was the third member of the Colman’s Mustard family to lead the company and served as the Liberal Member of Parliament for Norwich from 1871 to 1895. He was a prominent social reformer, as was Charles Kingsley, making it likely that the two moved within the same social circles and may have been acquainted.
