Auchinleck (Field Marshal Sir Claude John Eyre).- Seago (Edward) Tideline, first edition, signed presentation inscription from the author "To Field Marshall Auchinleck, with best wishes, from Ted" and charming original ink boat drawing to front free endpaper, plates, a few marks, original cloth, spine browned, covers faded and with a few marks or stains, spine ends and corners rubbed and bumped, 8vo, 1948.

⁂ Sir Claude John Eyre Auchinleck (1884–1981) was a senior British Indian Army commander who served with distinction during both World Wars. He spent much of his military career in India and rose to become Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army in 1941 during the Second World War.
