Graves (Robert) Country Sentiment, first edition, signed presentation inscription from the author to Dr. W.H.R. Rivers on front free endpaper, occasional scattered foxing, browning and marginal dampstaining to front free endpaper, modern chagrin leather in imitation of original boards, original backstrip loosely inserted, 8vo, Martin Secker, 1920.

⁂ A superb association copy, inscribed to the doctor who treated Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen for shell shock at Craiglockhart.

Graves visited Sassoon at the hospital on several occasions, during which time he met Rivers and remained friends with him after the war. Graves would seek Rivers' advice on literary projects and would jointly dedicate On English Poetry to him and T.E. Lawrence.
