Description

Plath (Sylvia) The Colossus. Poems, first edition, one of 500 copies, association copy, Frieda Hughes' ownership inscription to half-title, lacking front free endpaper, perforated and ink library stamps to title recto and verso and last p. of text, remnants of paper sticker to front pastedown, small marginal closed tear pp. 33-36, scattered spotting and surface soiling, original green cloth, library stamp in blind to upper cover, spine slightly faded and with library shelf mark, covers with a few stains or marks, a little rubbed and bumped, 8vo, 1960.

⁂ This association copy of Plath’s first and only poetry collection published in book form during her lifetime—issued in a limited print run of just 500 copies—originally belonged to Frieda Hughes, the English–Australian poet and painter, and the daughter of Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes.
