Shute (Nevil) Round the Bend, slight crease to spine, spotting to edges, spine ends slightly chipped, 1951; The Chequer Board, ink ownership signature dated 1944 on front free endpaper, light spotting to spine and covers, dust-jacket extremities chipped and creased, 1947; Pastoral, bookseller's ticket on front pastedown, ink ownership signature dated 1944 on front free endpaper, "Colonial Edition" ink stamp on final pastedown, dust-jacket upper flap price clipped, "Colonial Edition" ink stamp on lower panel, spine slightly faded, spine ends and corner tips a little chipped, 1944, first editions, original cloth, dust-jackets, overall excellent; and 3 others by Shute, 8vo (6)

⁂ An excellent collection of Nevil Shute's works, including 'Round the Bend' which was one of the first novels Shute wrote after emigrating from Britain to Australia in 1950. It tackles racism and condemns the White Australia policy. Shute considered it his best novel.
