Dickens (Charles) Hard Times. For These Hard Times, first edition in book form, first issue with p.244 misnumbered 44, half-title, occasional spotting (mostly at beginning and end), original first state olive green moiré cloth, priced 5/- at foot of spine, usual light sunning to spine and fading to cover margins, slight fraying to spine head, some very small marks, light bumping to spine ends and corners, still an excellent example overall, [Eckel p.131; Smith I, 11], Bradbury & Evans, 1854; The Letters, 3 vol., half-titles, spotting to first and last few leaves, bookplate, contemporary half-morocco, richly gilt spines, 1880-82; and others by Dickens, 8vo (12)
