Adam Bede, 3 vol., first edition, half-titles, vol. 3 with advertisements at end torn away with only final f. still present (pp.15-16), leaves a few times roughly opened (see vol. 3 pp.205-208), spotting and soiling or staining scattered throughout, lightly browned, vol. 2 gutter split and weak at p.1 but holding, gutter cracking at some other points and contents little shaken, with vol. 2 pp.369-370 loose & vol. 3 pp.193-208 working loose, some hinges cracked, original orange-brown blind-stamped cloth, spines gilt, shelf-lean, particularly to vol. 1, spines slightly darkened and with some chipping and short tears to ends, some light soiling to covers, little rubbed with bumping and wear to corners, [Baker & Ross A4.1], 8vo, Edinburgh & London, William Blackwood and Sons, 1859; and the first edition in book form of Daniel Deronda, 8vo (7)
