Grahame (Kenneth).- Adeney (Elizabeth) Toad: A Play ... from the Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame, ink inscription in a juvenile hand reading "To Auntie Phe From Elizabeth", with 'From Elizabeth' copied below in a different later juvenile hand, cracked hinges, original cloth-backed boards, small mark to upper cover where label removed, small loss to lower board, a little rubbed, slight bumping to corners and extremities, 12mo, [Ditchling], [for the author] by H. D. C. P., 1928.

⁂ This predates Milne's own adaptation, widely believed to be the first theatrical adaptation, by a year.

H. D. C. P. is Harry Douglas Clark Pepler was a founder member of the Guild of St Joseph and St Dominic, as well as 'St Dominic's Press'.
