Darwin (Charles) The Movements and Habits of Climbing Plants, second edition, third thousand, half-title, wood-engraved illustrations, ink stamp to title, ink inscription to front endpaper, occasional light marginal browning and finger soiling, hinges starting, original cloth, small chip at spine head, extremities a little scuffed, [Freeman 843], 1888; The Descent of Man, second edition, twenty-first thousand, half-title, illustrations, previous owner's signature and pencil notes at end, front-free endpaper to half-title detached and loosely inserted, cracked hinges, original cloth, rubbed, bumping to corners and extremities, 1888; 8vo (2)

⁂ The front endpaper to the first bears the signature, 'W. Ruskin Butterfield' above an inscription in a different hand reading, 'Presented to the Hastings and St. Leonards Natural History Society, 1907'. Butterfield was a published natural historian and museum curator.
