Animal welfare, Gloucester copy.- The Hare; or, hunting incompatible with humanity: written as a stimulus to youth towards a proper treatment of animals, 2 parts in 1, first edition, half-titles, engraved frontispiece, 1 (of 2) advertisement ff. at end, frontispiece trimmed at outer margin, affecting imprint, H5&6 hole within text with loss, foxing to part 1, both parts occasional spotting or light staining, lightly browned, 19th century roan, spine in compartments and titles in gilt, rubbed, [Schwerdt I, p.230], 12mo, printed for Vernor and Hood, No. 31, Poultry, 1799.
