Carved jewellery.- [Giulianelli (Andrea Pietro)] Memorie degli Intagliatori Moderni in Pietre Dure, Cammei, e Gioje..., title printed in red and black with engraved vignette, title with small date in blue pencil, some light foxing and dust-soiling, bookplate "Collection léguées l'Université de Liège par le Baron Adrien Wittert", Livorno, Gio. Paolo Fantechi e Compagni, 1753 § Kirchmann (Johann) De annulis liber singularis, additional engraved title, title and divisional titles with woodcut printer's device, title with small ink ownership initials to upper blank corner, damp-stain to fore-edge throughout but often light, some very light foxing and browning, lacking front free endpaper, yapp edges, manuscript title to spine, [STCN 840115040], Leiden, Hackios, 1672, contemporary vellum, rubbed and soiled; and 3 others on medals or miniatures, v.s. (5)

⁂ The first mentioned on the carvers of semi-precious stones, cameos and jewels. The work incorporates text taken from Vasari, as well as a translation of part of Pierre Mariette's Traité des Pierres Gravées (1750), and a useful index of the names of the stone and diamond carvers. The second mentioned is a treatise on rings, first published in 1623.
