London.- [Ralph (James)] A Critical Review of the Publick Buildings, Statues and Ornaments in, and about London and Westminster, first edition, folding letterpress table of comparative dimensions of St.Peter's in Rome and St.Paul's, woodcut initials and decorations, bookplate of Strickland Freeman, lacking half-title, front endpaper trimmed at corner, small hole to title and a few later ff. (slightly affecting text of later ff.), scattered spotting and a couple of marginal nicks, some toning to a few ff., near contemporary calf-backed marbled boards, [ESTC T56391; Goldsmiths' 7249], 8vo, C. Ackers [& others], 1734.

⁂ Influential work in support of Lord Burlington's English Palladian style of architecture, the reason for his dispute with Alexander Pope.
