Gladstone (Catherine, philanthropist and wife of William Ewart Gladstone, 18121900) 12 Autograph Letters signed to Miss Tebbut and a variety of others and with an autograph addendum in one letter from William Ewart Gladstone, together 33pp., 8vo, Hawarden Castle, Windsor Castle, Colwyn Bay Hotel etc., 20th August 1856-89 & n.d., "Dear Sir, We have received the touching card which tells of the sad loss you have been called upon to bear. We little thought when my husband received your beautiful present that we should so soon be called upon to sympathise in this gresat sorrow...", and W.E. Gladstone's addendum to the letter, "... I join in my wife's feelings and in the prayer with which she concludes...", some tears along folds, slightly browned; and 3 others including 2 fragments of other letters, 8vo & 4to (15).
